Introducing… Liberal Political Enthusiast Collab With Happy Alex

Happy Alex and I had a really good idea this morning/evening. After emailing each other a little bit we came to the conclusion that we would make a collaboration series on politics of the U.S. and the U.K. from a liberal point of view. Since we are both a little crazy about liberal politics, at least I am, I’m going to try my best to not intimidate you over at the posts that Alex will be posting from my point of view.

Our first project will be to give each other Q&As on our country’s politics, hers being England and mine being the United States of America. As far as I know politics are a little bit crazy everywhere, what with European Union stuff in Britain,

and a certain group of horrible people called ISIS in the Middle East. Of course I sadly have not been keeping up to date with Britain politics so this way we’ll all be informed.

Read a little bit and you’ll probably be quite interested. We’re not quite sure the exact direction this collaboration we’ll be heading, but I will tell you to keep an eye out on both of our blogs for Q&As.

Just remember, it might be biased. Not that bias is a bad thing, but I said LIBERAL politics, so be prepared.

The Bliss Of Volunteer Work

Hello my friends!

This is an update, if you are new or just haven’t read the last post, I suggest you might want to so that you’ll understand what is happening in this post.

Basically all I had to do yesterday during volunteering was lay down on hammock and talk to people in Hawaii, while eating chocolate.

The first phone call I made, I was really, really, freaked out to start punching numbers into my iPhone.

First of all I had no idea who I was about to talk to. People disagree about politics all the time and I know a lot of people who don’t like telemarketers. Well, actually nobody does. But somehow, lying there with my headphones on, and my laptop balanced on my legs, I was able to get up some courage to actually dial the phone number. Nobody answered.

For about ten calls after that, I had no response.

Then I finally got in touch with somebody. They were nice, and there was something quite liberating about talking to a complete stranger.

The next call where somebody actually picked up, things didn’t go quite as smoothly as the man on the other end kept yelling at me: “What do you want?! What do you want?!” To which each time I calmly replied. Finally, he hung up. This of course made me lose some of my confidence. I had put my music on shuffle, so each time I hung up I would hear a little bit of a song which boosted my confidence back up.

The calls continued, and I discovered much to my happy surprise that Hawaiians actually do say “Aloha”

I made 96 calls that day.

If there is some sort of cause you want to support, or anything like that, I suggest you volunteer for it. Not only does it help something else, it helps you, because you are a) educated and b) you feel really happy afterwards that you helped to make a difference. Also, at most times there are people around you who are sharing the fun.

I’m Happy

Yesterday I was at Eleanor’s house, and since she was doing something, I checked my email on my phone because why not? She was trying to say something to me but I didn’t notice, and guys, I don’t want to get all political here, but it’s a real life update that you probably need to know, otherwise you’d be out of it, anyway, I couldn’t believe it because the email had been to me from a woman a few towns away wanting to know if I could make it on Thursday to volunteer for Hillary Clinton.

I am so excited for Thursday, the whole thing is like a sheen over my mind. I can’t stop thinking about it. I am really happy. I don’t think I have ever been so happy in a long time.

Note: Please don’t comment on politics because it is the most controversial topic in the world, in my opinion. Although one may beg to differ. (pun not intended).

P.S. I have been listening to a lot of Shakira lately, and the music makes me very vibrant and happy.

P.P.S. I tried not thinking about politics for a day and it was very nice. (I’m really bad at keeping the politics to myself, at least Happy Alex can keep it to herself in her blog. I mean how????)

I’m Back

I’m trying to tell myself that wasn’t a break. OK? No blog breaks here. Just a certain lapse between posting. 🙂 Actually, it is probably a good thing I haven’t posted for so long, the reason is that, if I did post anything, it would be long and boring to read. Of course, it’s only been 3 days, so it’s really no big deal, but for me, it has felt like a very long forever, in not posting. In fact, it feels about a week since I last posted.

This morning I had my first voice/guitar lesson with a new teacher, then saw friends.

Without further ado, why don’t I present you with a quote, because I was tagged for the three day quote challenge by Bella (THANK YOU!) I’m sorry if I’m not following all the rules, except for the possibility that I probably wouldn’t end up doing it in the first place, so I think you’ll just end up finding quotes at the end of each post for the past few days.

-Ariana

P.S. It’s Friday, so there’s a bunch of new music out! From Gwen Stefani, a whole new album, a new song from Ariana Grande, Zayn Malik, who trust me I don’t listen to, and a really cool catchy, inspirational new single from Iggy Azalea.

P. P. S. I wore green yesterday, last year I didn’t and it literally hurt.

Little Bit Of Life (Update)

I have not posted in 3 days! What has gotten into me???? I’m probably just too “busy” I spent yesterday making a music video with Videoshop, and while doing so realized that not Videoshop but iMovie, (if you do it on the computer) gives you more room to be creative.

We also watched a sort of sad Polish movie. I recently had a sleepover with good friends, which included dancing, and watching the rain while eating ice cream, and laughing.

So, I apologize for not posting anything, but I have a few posts that are in draft form, which I may end up publishing. I’ll have to decide 😉

The Blogger’s Story Award

This blog award was created yesterday by Inf. I really hope that it gets out places, because it is a really cool award that is really good for your blog and it’s readers.

First of all to me, the award means an honor to the nominee for the work they put into their blog the past moments and the legacy to come. I am highly honored to be nominated for this myself, and I thank Inf so much for the nomination. Her blog is beautiful, she posts about life regularly, and her blog contains a whole lot of magical unicorns which I hope you go visit! Please follow her. 🙂

Inf said in her award post.

I feel like you (people that I nominated) are the people that are closest to me, and you all definitely deserve much more than I can give you.

So, I know that OY30 already created an award image, but I really felt like making one myself, just because making award images are SO fun, especially when they involve magical unicorns, and I don’t think this necessarily has anything to do with magical unicorns, so forgive me, but here it is: o.o

Here are the directions:

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Showcase the award picture
  • Answer the questions
  • Nominate 3+ bloggers

And here are the questions:

  1. A) What is your blog’s name? B) Why did you name it that?
  2. How long have you been blogging?
  3. How many followers do you have?
  4. Who was your first follower?
  5. What got you into blogging?
  6. What is your favorite part about blogging?
  7. If you could improve anything at all about WordPress/blogging, what would it be?
  8. Why do you continue to blog?

And my answers:

  1. Raven Wings. I named my blog “Raven Wings” because I love the magical mystery of animals, and really,  have to admit ever since I started my blog I admire the wings of ravens and crows more and more.
  2. I have been blogging since the 19th of December, 2015
  3. I currently have 144 other bloggers, writers, and other amazing people of that type who have decided to click “Follow”
  4. Aayusi, from the lovely blog “Being ME” with lots of world insights, life insights, and a bunch of other cool stuff, and I believe I had another follower before her, but they unfollowed.
  5. I’ve been blogging for a long time, and then decided to do more life, thought, inspiration stuff here at Raven Wings, how I started in the first place was that I felt like I wanted to put my ideas out there.
  6. What my favorite part of blogging is, is that I can just write something, and then have people see it, and actually like what I write, without them really even knowing who I am, because they can see what I write in a different light without judging me as a person. Do you know what I mean? Not that I am completely weird or anything, but they can see my writing more clearly. OK, I’m straying a bit off topic!
  7. I would improve nothing. The whole blogging thing is great how it is.
  8. I continue to blog because I don’t want to leave my people without my writing, and it has kind of become this really nice safe outlet, which I wouldn’t want to leave. 🙂
