A Butterfly’s Body (Leap Day)

Leap Day: Lucidity. Elusiveness. A butterfly’s body.

There was no beginning there was no end;

A day on its own,

Independent

Not pretend

With one pencil line,

Another intersects

Like two planets colliding,

Leaving stardust in their wake

Together their results protect

Like one together, Unknown-4

Offspring and mother

This day is is between

A day like no other

Feel the ground underfoot

As the orbit careens

Almost like stopping

Like sewing without seams

The day’s almost over

The echoes, they fade

The marching creatures

Like an elegant parade

They are going to bed,

Back to normal again

The course keeps going,

Blood is still red.

There was no beginning, yet there was no end.
