July 30th

The truth is, I have not been blogging lately. I feel terrible about it. I’m not going to make excuses because being apologetic is a good thing but I feel like it just doesn’t work on words. On the internet. On Raven Wings. Or any blog for that matter.

I know I have not written in a long time. Things change a lot, especially I’ve noticed by seasons. During the summer I have plenty of time but I haven’t been in the mood to blog. Even though every now and then I will draft a post, it seems like they never get published. This is my third post this month. It is the second to last day of the year. I guess I will tell you what has been happening to me lately.

First of all, as you may know I am entering high school next month on August 22nd. I haven’t been to a school like that before, and it is a new experience. None of my friends are going except for some of my playdates from back when I was an itty bitty toddler. A lot of the time I have been thinking about school. I’ve been doing the paper and the reading required for the summer. I’m actually really not nervous, I’m actually excited, but I know I will be in the parking lot on the first morning. Of course I’ve been involved in politics, vacations, etc. A lot of the time though, I’m at home. I keep redoing my desk. I re did it yesterday. I rearranged things, hung my string lights on the ranchero style headboard behind it, (I know it is a desk) and printed up this absolutely lovely inspirational Formation poster. I also am keeping my pencils in a Starbucks cup. It is really cute and I learned it on this blog.

It is very early in the morning. The first thing I thought about was writing this post so I got up to my desk to get my laptop but then decided to stay on the desk so I could wake myself up a little more. When the browser was being irritating I went to get Babble because I could hardly wait to write down everything that was in my head.

It has been the longest month, and hopefully next month, even though I am starting school I can get back on my blogging game. I really miss it.

Guys, you are great, keep writing and keep reading, and if you want, leave a comment below, I love to hear what you have to say 🙂

Yours Truly,

Life Update + New Interests (Playlist)

It is officially summertime, and although things haven’t exactly been going as well as they have before, I’m having a nice time.

My friends are very busy and I have not been hearing from them, so I am looking towards some time alone this next week.

The school that I’m entering this summer issues lots of work over the summer, so I have reading and math almost every day in order to prepare.

I had a doctor’s visit yesterday and it was terrible. I had to do a physical in order to qualify for sports at my school. And I had to talk to the doctor. Apparently if you are over twelve you get to be asked very weird questions. Like do you smoke…??? Of course I said no. Then I had to do exercises. They also measured my vision which happens to be 20/15 which is much better than average. I was so happy to hear that.

Then they had to test my blood. I was begging my mom for any other alternative to this procedure, but there wasn’t. So I started to go into panic mode. We waited and then I had to go into a room and sit in a chair. I had to turn my head away and close my eyes because I hate everything that has to do with needles in my body. I also listened to music. And tried not to look.

I felt a small stab and thought the needle had gone out, but then I snuck a peek (which was not a good idea) and even though it had been about a minute since I felt the stab the needle was still sticking in my elbow. I chose not to see anything else and felt very faint when I left. I was weak the whole rest of the day, and ended up lying in bed for most of it. Apparently they had taken out a lot of blood, (more than I had expected they would) Anyway, I’ve completely recovered, and you can’t even see the spot under my elbow.

I saw my dad after awhile which was very nice. I’m back now and have been doing nothing very useful today.

I am using a notebook from my Grandma (pictured) in which I will recount my trip. Even though I took a journal with me I never ended up writing in it about my trip while I was there.

June Favorites

Hi! I just got back from a long European trip which I talked about in the last post. It consumed most of my month of June. So here are what things I loved the most:

Word! I borrowed a tablet on the trip and I got Microsoft word so I could write.

Looking at castles go by while I drank hot tea. It was so nice, and there were so many castles.

So, my favorite song is still That’s My Girl by Fifth Harmony, and I listened to it all the time. Not to mention that I was really into these two songs as well:

Crybaby by Melanie Martinez

Roman Holiday by Halsey
